Fort Steele Campground - "Where Friends Gather!" and "Only the Good Stay!"

When we were young, and camping with our parents, life seemed so much simpler! With that in mind, Rhonda and I try very hard to foster the "getting back to camping" philosophy. That's why we have firepits on EVERY site, not just one or two for the entire campground. What can be better than sitting outside roasting marshmallows in the evening with your family? Now those are memories to cherish! But getting back to camping doesn't mean you have to rough it! We have full serviced sites as well as partially serviced, and if you want to dry camp, we accommodate that as well! Our showers provide plenty of hot water after a hard day of camping!

We have trails to walk on, and we maintain a list of events that will be of interest to campers (for example, Persiad meteor showers, sightings of rare birds, and so on).

We provide games, and it's not unusual to see multiple families meeting at the front end for a campground-wide volleyball game!

So poke around our website, and see what you can find! The table of contents located on the left side of each page, will take you directly to places of interest. We've included a lot of pictures in the website, and we know how frustrating it can be waiting for pages to download, so we've tried to keep them as small as possible. The Campground Layout page, has two pictures embedded on the page, so it may take as much as two minutes to load if you are using a 28.8K modem. Of course with cable, you may have to wait 4 or 5 seconds! The gallery, sites and wildlife pages all show thumbnail pictures, so they load quickly. Click on a thumbnail to take you to the larger picture, where you'll find interesting information concerning that picture.

All of the wildlife pictures, have been taken on the campground, or within several hundred meters of the perimeter. If you like nature, peace and quiet, and a family oriented campground with a GREAT swimming pool, this is the place to visit! If you want to party... don't come here!
