Gray Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis)
This
squirrel has made himself at home at the campground, and is
very active during the day 'squirreling' away nuts from the
abundant spruce and fir trees in the area! I'm pretty sure
that he's a Gray (Grey) squirrel, but the research I've
done show that this species is an introduced species to
this part of Canada. I know we also have Red Squirrels at
the campground (no picture though), but the size and
colourization is very noticeable between the individuals.
If you know something about squirrels, I'd love to find out
for sure which is which!
